Quality of results:
Limitations: overlapping of some legislative provisions; refusal of some units to provide data, especially social assistence units that provide health services also and employ health care personnel.
Short history of activity:
Before 2004, two different statistical questionnaires were used, SAN1 for the public sanitary units and SAN2 for the private sanitary units. Since 2005, only one SAN statistical questionnaire has been used.
Previous version: Activitatea unităţilor sanitare v. 13
Observations:
The data for localities (communes/towns/town-municipalities) are provided by the Statistical Territorial Divisions from local administrative sources and the statistical questionnaire is designed centralized at county level and not at sanitary unit level. Each year, 3300 SAN statistical questionnaires are filled out.
Starting with 2010 data are registerd at unit level for health units with beds and centralized, at locality level, for ambulatory units.
The data for emergency medical assistance are provided by the Ministry of Health. Starting with 2007 tthe data for emergency medical assistance are provided from the SAN survey.
Since 2014, in the statistical survey SAN only the number of healthcare personnel is collected.
