Short history of activity:	The statistical survey on existing herds on June 1 was elaborated by the National Institute of Statistics in order to get statistical data on cattles, by age and economic destination, namely, breeding and slaughter, based on the Directive of the European Council no. 93/24/EEC of June 1, 1993 regarding the performing of the statistical surveys on cattles and on the Order of the President of the National Institute of Statistics no. 11/2009. In 2003, a pilot survey was performed within the Institutional Twinning Project.The statistical survey on cattle livestock has been performed in Romania since 2004.
